Default Laptop gone wierd..... Help please!

Ok, laptop has gone up the walls :P. I think I have narrowed it down to somewhere around the middle of the keypad, which, when clicked will send the computer into a crazy attack and it seems as though it thinks the keys are being held down or something. For example, it will open help repetitively, or be clicking on something so fast that you can't click elsewhere. Or perhaps sometimes it randomly decides to stop working, queu it all up, and try do 50000 keystrokes at once?....

It is VERY wierd. Took it to a repairer, who said if he doesn't fix it, money back. He was so confident he knew what it was, and well, we got out money back :P. I've unhooked the laptop keyboard and using usb, although this is very unconvenient and it still does occur occasionally.

I don't belive it is a virus, as it currently has a fresh install of windows on it (after alot of quick key pressing, etc, to install it). This is driving me insane, perfectly health laptop now considered useless........

Please help if you can! It's a Dell Inspiron something. Sorry, forgot exact model. Dell can't help either, all they could do was suggest new install.

[Excuse original post, my net was stuffing up, and would let me post that but not my original message :P]

You mean you dont want to install. Look do the install that way youll find out if its a hardware issue or not. You could try booting with a dos disk - if it doesnt do it there you know its not a hardware issue almost certainly.

Did the repairer check the keyboard connections. Only reason for this was at work we had a user who had something similar, keys would be stuck down for no particular reason. Found out someone had spilt coke on the keyboard and the sticky crap held down the keys after they were pressed. After taking out the keyboard and cleaning it with alcohol it was good as new.

Hm, perhaps some isopropyl alcohol like what I use for cleaning cpu, etc? Not really used to laptops, this is my dads :P. So what parts should I clean exactly? Only on the actual keypad, or where it touches on too?
