Default Older console questions

I know that the SNES had an official 'AV' connector you could buy but did the Mega Drive as well?

I never remember the MD looking so washed out, crappy and with very muffled sound.

Also... which games consoles should I get? and what are some good games for them? I have atm - PS2, PSX, Saturn, MD, SNES, Master System (lost), NES (broken).

Did the 32X have any good games for it?

The megadrive 1 didnt have an official av cord but the megadrive 2 had an av cord. The connectors for the av/rf units on the md2 was different to the md1 so you cant use the av cord on the md1

For old skool like you're after Id recommend:

NES (top loading version if you can find it)

Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros 3
Megaman
Megaman 2
Megaman 3
Castlevania
Contra
Probotector

SNES

Super Mario World
UN Squadron
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4
Terranigma

Yes both versions of the Megadrive had AV cables. The original used the same 8 pin cable as the Master System 1, the Megadrive 2 used a 9 pin cable which added stereo sound on the av out.

There are plenty of pinouts on the net, just google around.

There's a good 32X page here http://www.geocities.com/the32xmemorial/index2.html

NES: International Cricket

SNES: Super International Cricket

Both awesome games, more for the novelty than anything else. I still remember the time International Cricket stuffed up and the fielding team couldn't find the ball... I put a book on the A button to make the batsmen run, and the next morning had more than 1000 runs! I would have gotten more, too, but mum turned the console off that day while I was at school.

Super International Cricket was just cool because you could appeal whenever you wanted to.

Both great games! I play them every cricket season. IMHO still miles ahead of the EA cricket games.
