When my sister & I were growing up, our family had a wonderful female Golden Retriever Shandy who was our first dog-family-member.
I have no photos available online of her atm. --- Later our next Golden Retriever was another female, Dusty ("Dusty Gold") who I became very close to. In this era I was now old enough to take her for adventures, and adventure we did! She was a very lucky and loved dog. She accompanied me on many trips, including: Various beaches, incl swimming at them with me, 4WD trips, Canoeing in the local lake, Bushwalking, etc. An online picture of Dusty during one of her favourite outings to a beach (Janie's corner, the northern end of Seven-Mile beach on the Mid North Coast of NSW) can be found HERE. --- My first real own dog is our current Beautiful Bronte Girl... (click that link for Bronte's Dogster.com webpage) She is a Siberian Husky X Rhodesian Ridgeback, about 3.5 years old now, and loves adventures! We have trained her fairly well (but there is quite a way to go before we could claim that she is very obedient at any given time, but that's OK), and the local dog training outtings are another one of her many enjoyable outings we do every now and then. Some direct link photos of her about a year ago can be found at: BRONTE1 BRONTE2 BRONTE3 BRONTE4 (All images linked above range in size from about 38kB to 65kB) --- I love dogs. I saw a black t-shirt in Sydney recently with only this written on the front in a cool mid-purple font: "The more people I meet, the more I love my dog".. Unfort. they didnt have one big enuff for me so I didnt get one.. But I would have. |

This girl may be mine, I still haven't chosen which pup I will get for certain, but so far I like this one:
Which ever pup I choose, her name will be Acacia. 7 weeks old in these shots and looking like a big teddy bear! They looked like baby wombats a few weeks ago ![]()

There are not enough GSD's on here!
So to rectify that - here's Prince who is 1 week older than my daughter (he's now 6). Son chose his name...not original I know! ![]() ![]() He's very protective of our cats: ![]() But packs his bags when we're renovating:

[QUOTE=PooJou;6924356]Don't have a dog myself, but here's the other halves - Richie, a cocker spaniel... possibly not pure bred as he has fur that grows like a bear, so if he isn't clipped he turns into a giant fluffy ball (he's getting there in this pic)
He is so cute! Is he desexed? He looks pure to me, sometimes desexed cockers can have thicker coats. EDIT: oops, wrong account, I am _Raz_, I forgot to sign out of the partners account!

"Odin" Great Dane x Mastiff
9 weeks ![]() 14months http://members.iinet.net.au/~ineluki/pics/dawg/Odin.jpg (linked because it's large and breaks the page layout) The cat in the first pic was his best buddy but it died recently from a snake bite. Local RSPCA had a half priced chip day today and I ended up getting a new dog which I'll be picking up on wednesday so I'll post some pics. They said it's a German Shepherd but it's clearly crossed with Kelpie. The puppy came running up to Odin and licked him on the face, first time I've seen a dog, let alone a puppy that wasn't intimidated by his size. When I left the puppy was covered in drool from Odin nudging and slobbering on it.

Mal, Lovely dogs, but is that chain really needed on the big guy? Kinda gives people the wrong idea about the breed IMO, not to say it would be fairly heavy on the dogs neck. You could tow a mack truck with a chain that size.

New dawg. Got her home this arvo after being snipped so she is still groggy. She explored the house, had a look outside then flopped on the rug. Her name is Freyja.
