Default Tasty DDR2

Ok, had a bit of bad luck.

I just scored a new job, doing some CAD and 3d modelling.. after a week on the job we realised the work pc needed an upgrade (dell dimension 8400, 512mb ram 3ghz). So with company CC in hand I order a 2gb corsair memory kit, and today she arrived.

As I was at work today (had to get it delivered to my home, not work) and the postman thought it insecure to leave the mem kit in the letterbox he thought it best to leave it near the front door/front of the house kind of area.

Anyway I get home tonight all excited that my work computer will no longer rape the HDD as much for page file use, beers in hand I walk into the kitchen to find two naked memory sticks, one slightly 'bent' on the breadboard.

WHAT THE FUCK!

I look into the bin to my.. discomfort.. I find a chewed memory kit package. Upon closer inspection of the ram I can make out scratches, bits of dirt and other shit which normally should be completely foreign to a matched pair of 1GB sticks. How in seven flavours of fuck am I going to tell my new boss the news!

pics coming very soon.

is there like a 'community-arse' I can go and kick to get my memory kit replaced? lol.
Should i even bother trying them in the work system? being BGA chips I thought they would have been ripped off, perhaps the dog only liked the flavour of plastic packaging rather than the memory itself.

thats a good read for first thing in the morning, thankyou

Well how bent is bent? I didnt think PCB would bend much without breaking. Maybe try straightening them and trying them anyway, whats the worst that can happen?
Complain to Aus post/courier that they left the package outside in an un guarded area.?

27/06/2006 - The socceroos were eliminated from the world cup due to a poor ref decision.
Never forget, support the 'roos in their quest for the next world cup.
