Default HDD temp

is there a program out there for measuring the temp of your hard drives??

i ask cause i cant find free ones, i need a free on to see if my new fan setup is healping, if this belongs in extreme cooling please move

Try speedfan. It allows u to monitor the temp of your cpu whatever other sensors are inside your box, including hard drive temp.

It will also allow you to vary the speed of fans hanging off some of your motherboard fan headers.

First of all, extreme cooling is for Liquid and Phase change cooling only, so if you hadn't have put it here, it could have only gone to the O/C&H forum.

The detection of your HD temperature depends on it being SMART compatible and that it reports the temperature. If it is a newer drive, it will.

MotherboardMonitor (OSD) and Everest Home (no OSD) will allow you to measure temps as long as the drives are smart enabled drives.

I use a little freeware program called "Dtemp" which reports the temps in system tray. It hasn't been updated in years but still works fine with modern drives.
