Default Going to the dark side?

I was thinking about changing to Intel setup but looks like current mobos doesnt support SLI. Well maybe it does but if so I would keep my graphic cards.
LANPARTY UT NF4 SLI-DR Venus
FX-60 @ 3GHz on air (will put WC this week)
2GB OCZ PC4000 Gold GX XTC
2x Asus 7900GTX
Soundblaster X-FI Extreme Music
2x 150GB Raptors RAID 0
PP&C 1KW PSU
DVD-ROM- DVD-RW
Dell 2407" LCD

New system:
Core 2 Duo E6700
ASUS S775 P5B Deluxe
2GB DDR2
GeForce 7950 GX2
I would like some opinions on that.

Cant go wrong with a Conroe. Only thing that will put people off is the money required to buy both a new motherboard and decent memory (this would cost somewhere between 400/500 dollars alone).

Upgrading from AMD to Intel...... the very definition of an oxymoron.

You probably wont feel much performance going from a FX 60(@3ghz), but there definatly will be some increase.

That system is more than enough for today's applications and it must have cost you a packet too , personally I won't upgrade for another year until thay have multicored , low-powered CPUs , SATA3 ; affordable , cool running DirectX10 graphics and FB/ DDR3 RAM .
But again , if habitual upgradings turn you on , then why not ?

Nah, I'm staying with AMD all the way, especially with the new price drops from the 24th-very yummy.

Well we all know what it is like. See new thing and I want it. Impulse I gues. I had a second thought and yea you are right guys. Vista with DX10 on the way and who knows what will happen in 2007 or 2008. Decided to put WC on and keep it till I will really have to upgrade. Also I dont know what sort of problems new CPU might have so better hang on few months...

Given your system, you would most likely do better if you wait for K8L, and/or even the quad-core cpus.
