Default smallest USB thumbdrive? OCZ Mini-Kart?

i am in the market for a small-as-possible (physical size) thumbdrive. i'd like to have a drive on my keyring, that adds as little bulk as possible.

the OCZ Mini-Kart is pretty much the smallest i can find, at 43 x 19 x 2.8 mm.
http://www.ocztechnology.com/product..._0_flash_drive
the price seems reasonable at $90 for 2gb.

the only similar sized device i could locate was the PQI Intelligent Stick "I-stick", which seems almost identical...except for being 1gb maximum, and even that is $130...so no apparent advantage there...

the smallest "traditional" thumbdrive i could locate was the SanDisk Cruzer Micro http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Default.aspx?CatID=1038 which is substantially bigger at 52.2 x 18.95 x 7.9 mm.

does anyone know of any other options that i should consider? 2gb would be nice, but physical size is the main factor. *edit - i know that the mini-kart it is slower than most other drives, but speed is not really an issue...i can wait *

cheers
DW

hah, those aren't small check this baby out

Kingmax 1GB USB 2.0 Super Stick Pen Drive

the picture is a terrible representation of this drive it's the same siz as the connector - so connector out is exactly the same and it's as slim as the connector as well - you have to see one of these to believe it

actually this is a good indicator

39mm(W) x 12.4mm(L) x 2.2mm(T)

You can try Sony's new Micro Vault TINY (up to 2Gb). It comes in a variety of colours too.
Not too sure about pricing though.

The problem with these thin drives is that if you aren't thinking or don't have the usb port in front of you, you get the stick in upside down half the time. They are also more fragile then the bigger sticks, something to think about when it's on a keyring.

Impressive sticks but I don't like how the contacts are exposed like that, bit of static and ba bye birdie.

HarmSupJai, you have a pic of your mem card? one what fits in the wallet sounds good, as long as it's a little flexible so when you sit on your wallet it doesn't break.

wow, thanks guys...very glad i made this thread now

i am sold on the Kingmax Super Stick...cheers power...

it's almost a centimetre longer than the sony, but not as wide, not as thick, and a quarter the price ...1gig for $50.

MagyaR, are you sure that static on the contacts is going to do anything bad? it seems like more and more companies are moving to this form factor...sony, ocz, kingmax...probably more to follow...surely if it were that fragile/dangerous, the big names wouldn't be producing them?

going to grab a couple of em, and if they work out well, i think these will be this year's christmas presents for family...never know when having a usb key on your keyring might come in handy

cheers everyone, this has been really helpful.
