Default Weird Cat Behaviour

My cat - Pixie is 4 this year, black moggie desexed girl with some burmese in there. Runt of the twin litter.

Now I don't know what I've done to her, but I'm guessing a lot of this is attention seeking behaviour?

- Licking the satellite speakers and woofer on my computer desk (they aren't tasty lol)
- Sitting on my printer/scanner
- Meowing/biting me when Im on the phone
- Random howling when wandering around the house (this is annoying at night)
- Drinking from the toilet (when she has fresh water in her bowl)
- Sitting on my pillow when I'm sleeping and purring in my ear and biting my ears/paw-ing my face.

She's a very friendly cat, but very playful more-so than a sleepy-lap-cat.
And she has a heap of toys.

In conclusion...WTF???^^

Share your bizarre cat capers.

My 2 cats who dont like each other and have to be kept apart both share a passion for bags of carrots. The oldest cat will come in on shopping day and seek the bag of carrots out from all the plastic bags..

My cat bashes his head on the front door when he wants too come in. and like a kid when he gets playful, he'll bang on the door and wait for me too open it then run off.

My cat used to do this when I was on the phone, very strange. It also used to cry quite a bit when the mobile phone or landline went off. I could also imitate kitten sounds and the cat would get very affectionate with rubbing and soft playful biting. So I always thought it to be an instinctive reaction to certain sounds.

Speaking of funny things though, when it wanted to come in it used to scratch on the ranch slider glass door, scared the crap out of me the first time it did it at 2am in the morning when I was sleeping!

She's likley to be coming into heat.

Alot of cat owners report unusual / out of normal routine behaviour before their cats come into heat.

My Ragdoll gets evtremley playfull and noisy just before she comes on.

Pixie has been desexed and is like this all the time.

She also likes to drop dry food in her water, eat from only one side of her food bowl, run around doing laps of the house, and many other weird and wonderful things.

I've never known another cat to be like her at all.

My 6 month old Ragdoll, Spencer, is completely and utterly crazy. He is desexed, and has been insane since the moment we got him.

He is the most playful animal I've ever met, he jumps in the bath with my kids, he bolts around the house at a million miles an hour. He tries to sleep on my head sometimes. He play bites everyone, he wrestles my 4 year old.

Recently has taken to trying to turn off light switches. Yup, serious. he runs down the hallway and jumps as far a she can up the wall at the light switches and hits the wall with his front paws. Last week, he came running down the hallway (floorboards), jumped on to the couch, then on to the coffee table, and then jumped straight in to the wall...

he has learnt a new trick of running in to my bedroom and leaping on to the middle of the bed in the middle of the night scaring the crap out of my wife and I, he just dead-weight flops from mid air.

He follows me around the house yelling at me, this morning he went so far as to sit with his paws up against the glass shower screen yelling at me the whole time I was in there...

Completely and utterly mental, I adore him and am so glad I got him.

Our cat is bonkers as fell

Plays fetch with screwed up bits of paper.
rans at full speed through the house for no reason
Currently thinks she lives with at least 6 other cats, all who look like her. There's one in the stainless steel toaster, one in the stainless steel fridge, on in the bathroom mirror, etc etc etc.

And many other crazy things, but I still loves her.

before we desexed him he used ot be in alot of fights and always came home somethingw rong with him, we desexed him the same time he had surgery on his arm cause of a cats tooth in it lol

after that he has been such a sook..always wanting to stay in the house and sleep on ur lap or bed. when he wants to come in he bangs the screen door with his paw - grabs the door and lets it bang lol

his a real cutie but he just loves to sleep on u and if ur playing a game he will make sure u can't play. he will even nip at ur hand if u pat him for too long and he gets annoying..with the paper thing he does that too..runs full speed and acts like a kitten

all cats i have had (4) have done the running around the house and they were all indoor and outdoor cats. I would liken this to birds in that they will sit on there perch and flap there wings for exercise and also if they feel like 'streching there wings' my cats use to enjoy it so as long as it doesnt both you i dont see whats wrong really.

The only time it bothers me is around 5am on my sleep in days.

Otherwise I think she's as cute and playful as hell. It doesn't really bother me too much either, but I honestly wouldn't mind at all if she stopped doing it.

Had a cat that used to do that. I thing it mistakes the ear for a teat and paws your face to get the milk going.

I have two cats. One is a half feral moggy, the other an albino moggy.

The feral is only affectionate occasionally and loves water, he will get into the shower with you and sit down while it is running. If you don't let him in he tears up the carpet at the door to let you know he wants in.

The albino has a habit of running flat stick around the house and then jumping onto whatever you happen to be sitting on and just lying down, it doesn't matter that it is 3 in the morning and it just happens to be your chest that he landed on.
