Default Need PSP Help!

well i'm in my HSC year...

so consequently i haven;t used my psp since about january (good ol slef control lol)

neways i pull it out today to "check on it" and it won;t turn on unless power cord plugged in and the battery icon ain;t blinking to indicate its charging

is it stuffed or am i doing sumfing wrong?

should i take it back to myer under warranty...? if so do i have to include all accessories? or just the unit and batter and power adaptor?

no, because it was never turned off.

its been in sleep mode for a long time, which over a period of a few weeks will deplete the battery completely, requiring it to be recharged.

similar system to an ipod, which is why ipods have such shit battery life (the battery is always being used even when "turned off").

if you want, when your PSP is fully recharged, turn it on then turn it OFF by holding the power switch for about 5 seconds. then the battery power will be retained until the next time you turn it on.

this is not a fault with the PSP, its simply in its engineering. its certainly not a returnable defect.

umm i think u missed the point

the problem is that it won't recharge

it turns on and works perfectly with power plugged in and the battery indicator comes up and keeps going away at random intervals (not regular like charging)and indicates full charge

however unplug power turns off

and it was switched fully off by holding the power switch thingo before storage.. i'm not dumb

and wats the point of having 2 psps lol... Michael jackson says "doesn;tmatter if its black or white" neways enough randomness HELP ME!

lol

Does it charge when the PSP is turned off?? If not, then I suspect that the battery may have drained itself to the point that it cannot be recharged. That happened to the battery in my camcorder when I left it there for a few months. Wouldn't charge at all, and only worked when I replaced the battery.

haha sorry, didnt realise it wasnt charging.

the reason i have 2 PSPs is that the white one is one of the first white ones made, the japanese 1000K model, running firmware 1.5.

my black PSP ran version 2.6 firmware which i used for games that needed firmware versions higher than 1.5. now that ive downgraded from 2.6 to 1.5 and use devhook though, youre right, its kinda pointless that i have two.

so you battery wont charge??

i had this probalem at first as well, i tried to charge the battery overnight, and it still said 0%. what i did waas i just left the battery out of the psp for a few day (as i was annoyed at this point), and when i went back to try it again, it somehow worked

or try check the contact points between the battery and the psp itself, see if they touch properly... otherwise you'll have to get a replacement
