If you're still wondering about the specs of the MSY ram, it's the PC2 5400 1024mb EL Dual CH Gold Edition GX XTC 4-4-4-12.

It's not the one you linked it, it has the gold honeycomb heatspreader - http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...00_gold_gx_xtc

Yep they're definitely the Value Pro. I got the 2x512MB Kit. Any overclocking results on your 2x1GB?

I'm at DDR2 812-1T, 5-5-5-12-20 with 2.1V
Can also do DDR2 880-2T with 2.1v and same timings. I couldn't get it stable over DDR2 900-2T even with 2.2V.

If the 2GB kit works out the same they're probably a good buy.

edit: Also, while the sticker says 5-5-5-10, the SPD says 5-5-5-12. changing the last one down to 10 made my PC slightly unstable, but then again i'm overclocking the RAM too.

not really, I think if you can get over 6400 frequencies from a 5400 ram, like dicer did, I thinks its a fantastic value because you saved yourself at least $100.

the 2gb sticks are around $250 and the clock well.

re: timings, my pc works perfectly at default rated speed of 667 with 5-5-5-10 as the sticker on the ram says. no crashes nothing ... I had it priming and folding for 24hours so far ... all ok ...

i am not sure if I want to clock further ... dont really see the point ... my pc runs at 2.66ghz (from default 2.13) which is default ram speed 333x8 at stock voltages. this bumped up the temps little bit - by 3C on my water ... but its perfectly stable so I am happy with that ... the PC is already fast, I dont see the point ocing any further at this stage.

Well, I was just reading it off the 2gb kit I bought from MSY (Malvern) on Friday..
Mines the '675 5400'... perhaps you have the other for the same price?

I have to change it anyway as my gigabyte s3 doesn't like it ..but i do..it's gold!

The default speed has little to do with the max overclock. My OCZ PC4200's do DDR2-915 @ 4-3-3 fine (prob even 4-3-2 or 4-2-2 but my board doesn't do latency=2) @ 2.1V - prob up to around DDR2-1100 at those timings with more vdimm.

Not really due to my computer being dead and all... but they're what's in the pic in the link I posted above.

I can take a pic of them before I get it changed and post when computer is up and running if you'd like.

reviving this old thread as I have done some overclocking on this ram few days ago ...

it runs perfectly stable at stock timings at 800Mhz with a 0.1V voltage bump ...

just in case someone is looking to get one ...

im happy

I bought the kit 2 days ago, (the 2*1gb kit).

And it is similar to those one, but the heatspreader is solid gold not honeycomb.

DDR2-667, clocks nicely to ddr2-800

Love it cos it cost $330, and generic was $303 so only $27 more for nice OCZ

a bit off topic, but just a post that enforces the 'value is nto always c rap clocking' theme.

i bought my ddr2 533 (2x1gb) back in june when it was more like $80 for a 1Gb stick

its genric 'Ramos' 533Mhz timed at 4-4-4-11-12 (400Mhz 3-3-3-8-12, puts it just as crap as budget ddr400 memory), but they do run at 823Mhz 5-5-5-12-15 at 1.9v. currently, due to my cpu clock/memory divider options its running 667Mhz 4-4-4-11-15 2.01v.

i get about 7.95gb/sec read and 7.65gb/sec write from my memory (AMD IMC Hammer, cpu 2.67Ghz) so i dont really need 800Mhz although it would probably get a ltitle extra out of it.
