I'd gather not .

I think a thread dedicated to the all the motoring idiot stories that you have seen or heard (can be slightly imbelished to aid the passing of the truth ), methinks about starting one now...

bout an 80mm fan at a lan party once, and when mucking around with its placement stuck my finger in it. only bit down, but scared the shit out of me as I wasnt expecting it. I reacted by jarring my elbow back, only the fan cable was caught and I sent that fan flying in to my mate behind me. Got him too, hehe.

Got my hair in the fan just a few minutes ago, didn't get caught though, just heard the fan blades buzz.

About a year ago I got a few bites from my 92mm case fan. Nothing to serious, but they sting.

my old duron 800 had a lil cooler master on it, and every time i put my hand in the case whether or not i was looking my hand would be drawn into the blades, quite seriously. one time i watched my hand go into the fan when i was trying to grab ide's nowhere near it, very weird indeed but it didn't hurt very much, not powerful fan, heheh but i'm glad my new volcano 7+ came with a complementary fan grill. when on full power this thing could bruise, slice, scrape, or all of the above

you know, you'd think those fan guards would be warning enough not to jam things into fans.

but no. i too have ben "got" by fans. not badly, thank god, mostly power supply fans. and the odd case fan.

Lol Thats what i did, got some super glue, did an alright job, let it dry for ages but the blade came off again. This time taking another one with it so i thought screw it after that. I broke off the rest of the blades and now my panaflo was revving at like >10000 RPM with 0 CMF

Man, how's this for unfair :P

I read through this thread the other day and thought to myself "hehehe, suckers clever ol' me, no fan will ever get the better of me". Oh how foolish I was to think so.

Last night I finally reliased why my GF4 was fuckign up, it needed better cooling (with water cooling now i have barely any case air flow) so I took off the side of the case and now have an 80mm fan "dangling" so to speak off its power cord round a hook down in front of the grafix card.

When I got up this morning I was so tired i'd forgotten I'd done this so when I put my hand in my case to flick the northbridge fan (stupid thing was making an awful noise) i put my index finger straight into a ~5000rpm sunon WHAT WAY TO WAKE YASELF UP! FAAAARKIN OOOOUCH!

My god...
Some of you people are awfully stupid.. lol No offense of course

Never actually stuck any body parts in any fans... attributed to the fact I'm obviously more intelligent then the rest of you.. hehe
But dared my mate to stick his hand into my 120mm case fan....
as he believed it "wasn't spinning very fast"...
haha needless to say... he ended up with a very nasty cut on his index finger...
I guess I could've been sympathetic... but it's hard when you're laughing so hard..

That's always the way... i did the same... i was talking to someone about how fast delta blades spin...

say the diameter is ~55mm.
0.055m.

@ 7000RPM, you blade is doing pi x 0.055m per revolution,
= 17cm = 0.17m/revolution.

Therefore, @ 7000RPM, you're looking @ .17 x 7000m = ~1200m/min.

That adds up to 1.2km/min. So, in an hour = 72km.

That's why it hurts - you're taking a hit @ 72km/hour!

(Someone check my maths - i was in a hurry)
For the 8000RPM 60mm, you take a hit at around 82km/hour...

OWCH!
