Will you get a PS3?

I'll admit from the start I'm feeling quite anti-sony lately, and its really interesting to me to see all the missteps that it seems sony is making. Of course they may not neccesarily be missteps if the console is successful when it gets here, it all remains to be seen. But most of the things happening of late arent seeming to be doing them any favours, at least not since the price points were announced at E3.

Now I'm not a fanboy of any console, I own both an xbox and a ps2 and like them both for their own reasons.

But none of the games on the ps3 seem that great so far, and the xbox360 is becoming more and more attractive for games and the online component is taking off it seems. The ps3 hasnt done anything to win me over, and the wii60 seems a better buy from gaming perspective.

So I'm really interested so see the statistics of how many people are actually going to get a ps3 around launch?

Post comments if you've got em, especially either why you're getting one? or why you're getting alternatives (360 or wii).

if its priced as it is now, i think i will pass. I will be getting a Wii on launch day, but if the PS3 price drops considerably, i may pick up one

I'm also getting a Wii at launch - but will probably wait a fair while before thinking about getting a PS3. I can't wait to play MGS4.. although nothing else really tickles my fancy, so overall I'm not excited about it.

ill buy PS3 purely for tekken 6 and tekken tag tournament 2(if they ever make it, stupid namco, TTT1 was the best game they ever produced in the tekken series)

i garuntee you those same people didnt buy a ps2 at launch either.

what i'd love, is some way of denying people things they say they dont want.

ie, 'ps3 is shit'

those people should be barred from ever buying one

maybe that would put an end to the rabid fanboyism going around these days

Im a big Nintendo fan and saying that Im not a fan of Sony but do not mind them, but $1000 and being delayed for so long puts me right off!

And your above statement makes you sound like a Fanboy yourself!

I voted yes, because I'm definitely aiming to get one at some point. It certainly won't be at launch, because I see no point at all in buying a console that early (limited game selection, and all games are expensive). Better to wait for all the bugs to become obvious, wait for Sony to fix them, and then wait for the prices to drop. Once there are plenty of games available, with a fair number of Platinum series ones, and once the prices have dropped to a reasonable level, then I'll buy a PS3.

it would have to be under $500 for me to even consider getting one, so i could be waiting a while for that
im not that excited about the xbox360 or the wii yet, i think i will have to try the wii before i can judge

So are these people who voted No have you chosen to not to get a PS3 because of Sony and their marketting scheme to date or because you think the PS3 is not a worthy piece of hardware?.

EDIT: I just noticed the 'around launch' bit, so the poll compared with the OP contents are not technically viable.

I voted yes, but thats to say I will buy one....not specifically at launch though.

As I can not justify the price when IMO there is no good games for launch and that you have to wait more than 3 months after all the other consoles to get it.

And to anyone you would have too say that $1000 is a lot of money.
As you can buy alot for a $1000!
