Default Is it bad to play games on a tiny laptop?

Hi i have an asus m5a, it never even gets warm even after hours of word prosessing anyway i loaded some graphic intensive games on it, and the thing got hot as, the bottom was almost to hot to touch. Normally the battery lasts for 3.5 hours, and thats what it said on the battery meter. It is normally very accurate but with gaming it only lasted 1.5 hours.

Will gaming on my laptop damage it in anyway?

Thanks.

Well considering games are a normal function of any computer there should be at least 1 exhaust fan on the laptop. If your concerned you could try getting a laptop cooler or something.

I dont think it'll break like right away but it might decrease its life.

I highly doubt it'd damage your computer. You're simply just running it at 100% load or close to for an extended period of time. I'd be peeved if I bought a nice little unit like an m5a and then have to pussy foot around it just so it doesn't break.

Provided you've got adequate air flow around the intakes (i.e if it sucks air in from the bottom then you're not starving it by sitting the intake vent on your lap), it'll be fine.

my bro plays an mmorpg and practically is logged into the game 24/7 even though his character doesn'tn do anything. This puts a huge load on the gpu and the cpu aswell because he is running the game through software T&L emulation (he's got crappy intel integrated graphics).
Basically the exhaust fan goes full speed 24/7 and gets quite warm, but he hasn't had any issues with the laptop so far for over a year now.

btw, he has a dell.

Sit it on a metal surface if possible, might help absorb some heat. Or get one of those antec laptop cooler things.
