ROFL.... absolutely bloody ridiculous. Well that won't fit in my case as it stands.......I'd have to do some shifting of hard drives and cables.

Well this is my case and you can see the bottom drive would have to be shifted as they are directly in line with the end of the drive and the cables.....

Little annoying as the hard drives are set up perfectly in front of fans which can't be moved.

ahhh ouch.

Nvidia should just make the bloody things external for people with smaller cases, and have a highspeed pci-e link to it, just like thier quadro plex.

Damn CHILLED, do you absolutely need that many hard drives?
What if you ditch the bottom drive and replace one of the other drives with a larger capacity one.
Or get yourself a LIan Li V1000 or similar, then none of your drives will be in the way.

It's an Antec 1080AMG file server case so not exactly a small case!

I'll just have to reshift things if I nab this card, ah well.

Yes, yes I do I have a raid setup and I backup drives I use......they are 250G drives so I'd have to buy a 500Gigger.......kindof pricey at the moment. But yeah that's an option for later.

my main point of concern is i want 2 gtx's to put in sli
do i drop 2k+ on the gtx's for wait until the cards come out with gddr4

a few people have pointed out that early adpoters of new technology often dont get the best and pay a premium for it

soo confuzion... but maybe its excitement - g80, wii, christmas pagent

[edit]:- me think g80 fits into a lian-70.. too lazy to get ruler out

Why bother with GDDR4? Presumably GDDR3 is cheaper and more readily available - and with the 384-bit RAM, bandwidth really shouldn't be a problem at all.

EDIT: Right now, I can't help feeling glad that I bought a CM Stacker a few years ago. When video cards get too long to fit in the Stacker, there will be serious issues just supporting the back half of the card.

How long are 7800gtx cards? Surely the G80 will fit in most cases, I know on my p180 I had to take the top hdd bays to get my gtx to fit tho
