I have recently replaced a San Diego 3700+ (single core) with a Toledo 4400+ (dual core), both chips feature 1mB L2 cache (2x for DC) and both run a 2200mHz, so very similar cores.
The 1 yo 3700+ would run comfortably at stock volts on 2500mHz and I once (accidently!) bumped it up to 2750mHz where it seemed to run fine for general Windows stuff (didn't Prime or Game test it or even look at the temps). However, my nice new 4400+ wouldn't boot at 2500mHz without a voltage boost to 1.425V where it runs fine. It Games (a little BF2) and Primes ok (no errors after a couple of hours) but if I run Prime and rthdrbl concurrently, lifting both cores to 100%, after about an hour the desktop would randomly lock (no errors in Prime) requiring a hard reboot. Temp rise (using a BT in a cool case) from mid 30's idle to 53'c full load (47' 50% load on both cores) so it runs quite a bit hotter than the single core, it cools very rapidly once the load comes off. So, I presume, my limit on this 4400+ DC is probably around the 2500mHz mark - and there is not much I can do???? I don't really want to bump voltage (and temps) any more but would like to get this CPU completely stable at 2500mHz (although it has never locked except when testing). Does anyone else have any experience with the 4400+'s; O/C's, volts and temp information would be useful for comparative purposes. On a side note this seems to confirm my own suspicion that the DC's are much worse O/C'ers than their SC equivalents, something to consider if you are thinking about going from O/C'd SC to DC. Also 3DMark05 going from SC 2500mHz to DC 2500mHz (both 1mB L2 cache) was 8700 to 9100, not a big change, although the system does 'feel' more responsive.

I just picked up the same chip, seems happy at 2400MHz on 1.38V
Also does around 2600MHz on 1.48V. I'm running it now on the first speed, But will move on to 2600MHz later on when I have time to play with it.

im the worlds biggest noob when it comes to overclocking, but i managed (after a day) to get mine to 2.6ghz
i primed for 12 hrs, no probs its at 1.5 volts though..is that to high? sits at about 45-48 under full load ( using speed fan) sits at about 35 idle.. i might try and lower the voltage abit when i get home tonight im on 11*240 , with ram still at 1:1 |

1.5v is okay, wouldnt go any higher though. instead of using speedfan, download coretemp and run that, its ALOT more accurate. for priming, download orthos. one program that runs dual prime. great for stress testing.

i used coretemps and my temps were 60-61 priming both cores!
so i put my voltage down to 1.45...sits at 56ish now... going to prime overnight to see if stable..if it is..might go down to 1.4 and see ![]() this is on air, using a ninja scythe, in a p180 with all 3 fans at full blast |

4400+ happily sitting on 2400Mhz here, for the record.
Wasn't fun getting it there though. |

Currently sitting fairly stable on 10x250 for 2500mHz, although my previous SD was a lot cooler and faster. I am still not convinced that the 4400+ buys much over an O/C SD 3700+ (which on average seem to O/C higher). I suspect an SanDiego single core @ 2600mHz (many seem to do 2700mHz+) is probably as quick for most everyday stuff as a Toledo dual core @ 2400mHz (not many seem to get much more than 2500mHz).
