Default Incorrect power adapter. Is +2V a problem?

Basically I was given an old laptop a while back, but without a power adapter.
I've seached the net, and found out it needs a 15-17Vdc, 3.36A supply, but I don't have one with a high enough current.

What I do have is a 19Vdc, 3.42A supply.
Will the extra 2 volts kill the laptop, or does the internal regulation have a large enough operating voltage window?

It prob wont kill it but wont be good for it, may even overheat and break down in the future, better to be lower voltage and current then above specidifed

I accidentally plugged a 15 volt PSU into a JVC 17" LCD that required 12 volts... and it's still working. Was running for about three days straight before I clicked (went to plug the other thing in).

Only one way to find out! It's not like you paid anything for it.

Thanks for the advice guys... if I can't find an adapter from anyone at uni today, I'll modify the plug and test out the 19V supply.
