Asus 'sells' two models of V1 in Australia: the 024P and the 027P. The 024 has a T5600, 1GB ram, 80GB HDD and so forth, while the 027 has a T7600, 2GB, and a 120GB. The price difference between the two was only around ~400, making the 027P a fantastic bargain for the specs, and up until a few days ago, several retailers stocked the 027P.
All of the retailers which carried it have now removed it from their sites and only the 024P can be bought now in Australia it seems. I sent an e-mail to IT national, and they responded that Quote:

I contacted another on-line store, which confirmed it. The AK027P is only sold at the retailers, although I have tried a few and none seem to stock it

I think it is more to give it exclusively too major chain stores like harvey norman etc. Hp and other brands do this with some models already.
Having said that I have sold one and I think it would depend on who your re seller is buying the notebook from. Not all the disti's are as picky if you have a good relationship with them. |
