Default Dye Sublimation printers

I am after a dye sublimation printer, reason being that my canon ip4000 prints great, however when it comes to a solid colour you can see the lines in the prints, this is unsettling especially when printing a blue sky, or a purple flower.
I have also noticed that dye-sublimation printers don't seem to go much higher in resolution than 300x300 dpi, is there any reason for this??
I should also mention that I don't like printing 6x4 prints and prefer to print A4 size prints as they look better to me.(A fly looks much better on A4 than on a 6x4)

Change the paper type and print quality settings, clear right up.

Either that, or your print heads simply need a good cleaning!

Brax, in the future, please try to post in the correct forum.

I have moved this from the main Photography forum to the Tech Talk forum.

Cheers,
Martin.

Dye sub printers dont seem to get anywhere near the quality of a modern photo inkjet.

The lines from your inkjet are probably either due to using the wrong type of paper, or because your heads need cleaning. You should not get lines out of an inkjet that's working correctly

I do apologise for the posting of the post in the wrong forum, I was not sure which forum to post it in as there are none specific to printers.
RE: ^catalyst , I checked my print settings, and lo and behold it was only on standard so I changed it to high, and the picture of a flower that I took at a friends place has turned out with no lines in it, thanks for the help everyone.
