Well after about a month of use my Superflower 500W psu died.

Was just using the PC an hour ago and then it just totally lost power.

Checked the powerboards etc, everything else was getting power (monitor, adsl). No matter what I tried the psu would not power back up. So now I'm back on my old Antec 380w.

I'll try it again in the morning, maybe it built up too much of a current and won't power back up until its discharged? Who knows. Hopefully its not dead

Would MSY replace it for me or do I have to deal directly with the OEM?

MSY probably would. Hmm very strange. Did it just power down? Any noise? Smoke?

Hmm what were you running it with? Sounds like what happened to one of my old GTR power supplies - it just loses power and never comes back. MSY should replace it for you.

Yeah, MSY tested it and it didn't power up for them either.

They rekon a cap blew, which make sense. Anyway I got a replacement, this one doesn't have the speed control like before. Instead just has "Auto Speed". Other than that its the same, blue led fan, piano black finish, 500w.

Lets see how we go now.

Asrock 775Dual-VSTA, E6300 C2D, ATI 9800 Pro (AGP), 1GB DDR1 (400). 160Gb WD Sata HDD, 16x NEC DVDRW drive. Nothing overclocked.

Maybe its that feature?

It lost power and never turned on, even after being unplugged for 12hrs+ and tested at MSY.. The new one is working without issue, touch wood.

It wasn't soft off as this option is disabled in the bios.

read as what i replied to your other thread...

with that said in the other thread, considering with my 430w coolermaster PSU, im running the following compared to yourself:

opteron 146
2x 512 ddr
asrock 939-dual sata 2
3x ide HDD
1x sata HDD
1x DL DVD burner
1x 7600gt PCIe
1x 9800se AGP
2x Cold Cathodes
2x 120mm LED fans
1x 92mm fan
1x zalman 9500
and lots of USB devices...

and ive got no problems...
so it could be the following for your current PSU: may be faulty, cant handle a full load, or you dont have enough wattage.

The $89 is the one I reviewed, for the price of the $55 dollar model I'd just go with a Coolermaster Extreme 430W

ended up getting the top power for $99 as msy didn't have any superpowers .. didn't go for the coolmaster because I thought it was inferior when compared to the superflower...read in some post that some guy regretted getting the cooler master over the superflower...

anyway - will let u know how things go...
