i dont think its about the graphics.....

i love the game sound, physics, and mostly the gameplay. over any pretty looking game.

A mate and I are considering getting into this for full F1 races. Is this pretty much the best you can get at the moment with the F1 mods, or is there another program we should consider ?

[BRAG]

Well I've just upgraded my driving hardware so it now consists of:

- Driving Force Pro (will hopefully get a FREX kit for it in the next few months)
- Redline Racing Pedals with USB converter and 250 pots
- SimGear SST Shifter in polished alloy to match the pedals.

The SST shifter is the new addition, and it's bloody awesome! All I've got to do now is find some time to put together a cockpit (already have a vague plan drawn up) and I'll be set!

one thing i have noticed with the bathurst track is that it seems to me to look much better with ati cards than nvidia, ati just seem to get rid of more jaggies at a better frame rate, cant wait for a X1950Pro......

Well they use the same 3d engine so thats not really possible. IMO if you've got the hardware and run at max Rfactor can look extremly good. As with all sims though, bling bling is not an important factor.

Should look pretty good on that system on max, remember a lot of tracks at this stage are converted from other games. For some high res upgrades to a few go here = http://sln.rscsites.org/
Apply them and do a few laps at Tobian and have a gander and let us know what you think.

I had it set on trilinear instead of 8xAF made a little bit difference.

Most of my compared testing has been on the barcelona track, they both seam pretty different, apart from the actual track I mean like cones/dirt/run off lanes etc.

Nice to see a thread here on this game, which I picked up last week.

For your info, I purchased rFactor through the Bigpond Games Shop for $44AU. Nice $10 discount for Bigpond users
(Not trying to advertise Bigpond here, just letting you know where the discounts are.)
