Default A sad day for ducklings

A sad day for ducklings indeed..

On my way to work this morning, I saw 2 adult ducks wandering aimlessly on the road, as I got closer, I saw 2 dead ducklings (probably got ran over) and a another 2 on the side of the road and 1 more that was still alive poking it's bill at one of the dead ducklings.

As much as I would've loved to stop by and take them across the road, I did not want a repeat of a duck attack!

Rest in peace little ones.

Take more notice of your surroundings when on the road people!

I've seen SO many little woodduck ducklings around the past week, so people be on the lookout!!

This 1 couple of woodducks had around 15 ducklings! I couldn't believe my eyes! I didn't think they had that many, or maybe they stole some baby ducks from some other parents :P

On a nicer note, some blurry pics my mum sent me of the ducklings on their back verandah. Hope this brightens up the thread.

up here the storm water grates are really big (back in the olden days it used to rain in qld.), the mother walks straight over and the babys follow but drop thru the grates
dont be fooled, a baby duck seems cute but when you rescue them they bite you and piss everywhere

HAHAHAHA!

We used to live (roughly) between two parks that had ponds. Every year a line of baby ducks would go wandering through our yard, and without fail at least one of them would get lost.

I never had a duckling bite or piss on me when I rescued it!
