I didn't say it needed 16x, just that it needed more than what a single pci card could handle. There at www.digitalnow.com.au. Theres discussion about them on these forums http://forums.dvbowners.com/

PCI-X slots gives you as much bandwidth as PCI-E so how come OP is not considering using it as a alternative for these devices that need bandwidth for raid controllers u such??

Perhaps he already has the PCI-e cards and doesn't want to purchase again? That ASUS board is looking the goods. I reckon i'm going to get one myself!

yeah already have a pci-e raid controller. Plus I think pci-e is more future proof for the general public. only thing I've seen in pci-x (mind u I didn't do alot of searching) is for raid controllers.

Yes that asus board does look tempting.

just gotta save up for it now lol
