yeah i really should just buy a portable player/recorder, itll beat using my phone as a portable player and then i can record nice and easily as well.

i had a loan of some 5inch yamaha monitors for a while, i found them to be both good and bad when compared to my current system (some big floorstanding hi-fi speakers)
the good: being bookshelf size makes them a lot easier to position for good sound, better clarity at low volumes
the bad: cant match the bass (at higher volumes) of my floorstanders, extra power cable annoyance.
i plan on eventually purchasing some monitors as in general i did prefer using them to my floorstanders.

I downloaded it last night, but it was nearly midnight before i remembered to listen to it.. and i only had laptop speakers. Will listen to it tonight.

On another note is $695 a good price for CDJ-400's?

i dont know what you mean by hip house, but if it includes things on that fidget/nurave tip then check these out

black ghosts - i want nothing (sinden remix)
bumblebeez - rio (any of the remixes, even the original)
midfield general - disco sirens (boy 8 bit or dim or chicken lips remix)

and on more of a house/breaks front
kraak n smaak - squeeze me (trevor loveys skeezer pleezer jam)
