I thought the Ninja Pus rev.B doesn't require MB removal because it uses the stupid pushpins like the TT-BT-VX does?

I would say the Noctua NH-U12F is just as good of a quiet cooler..

If you have a large case, you might be able to mount the Ninja without removing the MB, but in average size cases, the pins are too hard to push in, not enough room.

Ninja is the best all rounder, but Noctua NH-U12 is not far behind.

Scythe Ninja (8.5/10)
478, K8, 775 Huge tower heatpipe heatsink with loosely spaced fins, one of the biggest in the enthusiast PC cooling market today. It also happens to be just about the best performer we've tested. Can be run w/o a fan in near proximity of case fan(s) but works great with a Nexus 120 fan. Heavy, but much of the weight is in the base. Mounts with fan in any "direction".

Noctua NH-U12 (8/10)
Coolink U8-120-1600 8 478, K8, 775 Large tower heatsink for 120mm fan, similar to Thermalright HR-01 but bigger. With lower airflow, it's competitive. Cannot be freely rotated for best airflow configuration. Noctua comes fanless, but with fan clips; the Coolink comes with a mediocre fan, and simple fan controller. Good mounting systems. A bit top heavy.

Here's a linky to a new Air Cooler;

And here's a table taken from the above review;

It's clear what is the best... but best value for money is a different story. I personally think the above review is marketing bullshit. EVIDENCE: I owned a BigTyp 120 VX (rated 2nd on the chart) and it runs the CPU HOTTER than my GeminII - what bullshit from a bunch of lying f**kers. The chart isn't accurate.

what if i move the PSU?

damn sounds like a real hassle, and it'll cost me money lol

Wow that somehow skipped my attention. I will have to look into these G0 revisions of Q6600's. A cooler higher overclockable Q6600 are we talking 45nm or still 60? I'll look into this!

Maybe, but that will depend on your case. Check out the picture below:

Notice the fins over hang the pins.
Look here as well:

The Thermaltake MaxOrb would be the best of the lighter coolers IMO.

It is 4xx grams and performs as well as some much heavy coolers, it is also fairly short compared to the top coolers.

Performance isn't quite as good as something like the Tuniq Tower or TR Ultra 120 / Extreme, but it looks cool and is good if you move the case around a lot IMO.

What would be the best cooler under 80$ (to your door) with a quiet 120mm setup.

I specifically don't want a noisy fan at all, but relatively good cooling.
So if something is 120$ and AWESOME but something is about 4/5's as good but 80$ - that's for me

What is it?

tuniq tower is a good performer, and pretty quiet, especially if you use the included speed controller to run the fan slower. Its $69 from pc case gear and being in victoria, postage is $10

edit: added linky and shipping cost

The Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme is available at a lot of outlets now, but you have to add a fan.
