Default 7v fan didnt work?

Attempted to 7v a fan and it failed, didnt spin at all but PSU kept working

Any ideas why it didnt work and any other ideas for getting the fan to 7v?

Cheers

Im by no means electronic savy but with no more info its either the fan (ie you 'sploded it) or the psu as the fan needs to complete the circuit somewhere in the psu,

In short swap the fan and psu to find the culprit or be more specific

40mm sunnon fan, blows a shitload of air on 12v and also makes lots of noise. PSU is a old ATX 70w SFF, tried 5v and that works ok but doesnt push much air, tried 7v mod and the fan stopped working but the computer was still going. Undid the mod and set it back to 5v and its working fine ATM

Maybe you got the wires around the wrong way? All you do is keep the yellow and switch the red with the black directly next to the yellow.

Initially i was thinking that maybe the fan doesn't work at the lower voltage but it seems to work fine at 5V
