Default Single line to power many many devices

Hi all,

I was just wondering, is it possible to have a single line from the PSU to power all your devices? I mean current would be high, but would replacing the wiring from the CPU with a higher grade (one that carries more current) would this work?

I was just thinking of having 1 cable powering all devices (perhaps 6 or so molex's) to keep the computer tidy.

Also, say i were to power 10 hard drives, what sort of gauge(i believe is the term) wire would be required. I take it 1 drive chews up about 1 amp? so something that can handle about 15A?

Thanks

I think the wire gauge normally used is capable of up to 10A. Yes it would be possible to do that.

I have 2 hard drives, video card, optical drive and a board full of custom electronics, and everything is ultimately run back to 1 set of wires.
