Default conroe @ 800fsb?

got to do a E6300 conroe duo setup for someone but researching cheap mobys i keep seeing " max 800fsb on xxx"

being a amd boy I DONT GET IT

can someone layout the intel basics for me please.

is ddr2 a must?

hokay...
800fsb is important for the ram. If your mobo will do 800fsb stock then you have no issue with ram. So you get DDR2 ram that matches. With ddr you have ram running at 400mhz but twice, so it matches the fsb.

Whats complicated about it? not sure what you're asking for sure and it's hard (for me) to just explain 'what' exactly it is, it's just a thing lol

ok wats the E6300 fsb? i see its 1.8ghz but that means nuthing.
ddr2 @ 533 ok?

will this moby run that cpu @ stock ok?

basicly some cheap core duo mobys dont have ddr2

ooh, just looked at the cpu support list, e6300 @ 1.4ghz
now i get it lol

The E6300 is 1.8Ghz clock frequency, this is different from FSB. The FSB is 1066Mhz if i remember rightly.

Now the FSB is quad pumped, so it's really running at 266Mhz (266x4 = 1066)

So what you want is some ram that does 266Mhz at minimum, because we're talking about DDR2 the 533 you mentioned is perfect (2 x 266)
