Default Upgrading to AMD x2

Just a quick question:

When I upgraded the cpu, do I need to reinstall the winxp? Everything else should be the same...

When Upgrading From an athlon 64 single core to a dual core you wont need to reinstall XP.

make sure you install the AMD dual core optimizer, and the windows XP dual core hotfix. makes a noticeable difference.

reactivate windows ? so other peripherals won't get affected ? (digital tv card, soundcard, bla bla)...coz it's going to be slot in the different pci...

Only if you change something major, i.e. motherboard, maybe CPU. But usually its the motherboard.

i would, as then you have a clean start. but windows should still work.

might need to inst new mb drivers
