Default Setting up a Floyd Rose

I have an LTD with a FLoyd Rose copy tremolo thing. How can I set this up for optimum use? What are the alan key things for below the strings? How do I set those up?

Thanks.

It is a bit of an artform.

Don't get frustrated when you're tuning with the machine heads (after undoing the locking nuts). You'll have to tune from bottom to top E at least a few times. That's because each time you go through, you're increasing the string tension, which counters the tension of the trem springs.

You'll get there, just give it a chance.

Once you're close enough (within a semitone of what each string should be), lock the nuts and use the fine tuners at the bridge.

When im turning i tend to tune Top string bottom string. So tune high E then Low E, tune B then A, G then D Is seams to speed up the turning process for me anyway.

I know how to tune it and set up the strings and that, I was just curious how to set up the other things - like the alan key parts underneath the strings at the back. I have looked it up though, I know how to do it now.

And when I'm tuning after installing new strings I tend to tune my strings higher than normal. That way when I go back to tune from the beginning they're already pretty much normal - really speeds up the process.
