Big W will sell Sony PSP base model for only $249, but ONLY for this Saturday 11th Nov.

I also see they have the DSLite for $198 with the full version of the Brain Training game. Talk about a tough decision.

My head tells me to get the PSP but my heart tells me the DSlite....I am still leaning the PSP way though.

Anyone know what firmware the BigW PSPs are likely to come with, please don't say 2.81

All depends how long they have been sitting on the shelf / in the storeroom for...but a good chance they will be 2.81 or 2.82

This is just what i needed =) Will there be any price drop on the Value packs? or will this just affect the basic console?

It's not a price drop it's a one off sale.

Dang thanks for the reply Yerolo, I think a friend has a 1.5 for sale....looks like I better front up the extra and just pay for that...seems stupid though to pay extra for firmware lol. I guess the 2.81/82 hack will be out soon anyway (hopefully!)

they are base packs, they will most likely have 2.8.

if youre lucky some old stock might be 2.71 or 2.6 though

I thought 2.8 and 2.81 can be downgraded? It will happen before too long for all firmware anyway.

no, the newest firmware than can be downgraded is 2.71.

the base pack is normally $300.

Yes 2.71 is the latest.

Great news is I spoke with my local EB and they tell me they have 2.6 and 2.71 PSPs at the moment and that they are only too happy to match the price.

Looks like a PSP it is!!

EB Games: " BIGW out of stock so tough luck.."

Unfortunate as I want to buy one too, but that's usually what happens..

Call your local JB HI-FI, EB or Harvey Norman and ask if they can match the price, i'm pretty sure they can match the price.
