I think most of us have the zensonic 330. Think it was $103 from secret net. They had some refurbished @ 59

Played everything I've thrown at it. I'll give it a go on the divx test disc after I download it.

The Warehouse have a Unimax DVD/DIVX player for sale in their current catalogue for $49.95.

There is a thread here - http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=526953

Try JB Hi-Fi, few weeks ago they had the LG one for around $69 and i bought 2 for my cousins as gifts. They say its a good one.

Tell them you already bought few off them for this price and they will do the deal for you.

Also MSY has a MAYA branded one, its not too bad considering it has USB port for plugging in usb mass storage devices and plays Divx just fine. Also you get 300 classics games to play on

Cheers

Cool thanks for the recommendations guys. =) Are there such things as Regionless DVD players that play all regions without need of any mods or chips or anything? Also, do those DVD players you guys recommended play DVD+/-Rs and data dvd-/+rs? Any recommendations for those?

Most DVD players sold in Australia these days are region free, although many don't advertise it.

My experience with cheap DVD players is that they're great as long as you don't expect them to last more than 18 months - the actual drives seem to crap themselves if used daily for that period of time.

Hmm, what price range hsould I be looking into in order to get one that will last years.

Plus, if I buy something like a Sony DVD player or Olympus digital camera from overseas, and it breaks when I'm in Australia, where can I take it to get it fixed or my money back? Is that possible?

Thanks. =)

most divx/dvd players I've seen the guts of use standard PC dvd rom drives, so theyre easy to swap if it dies. :-)

did that to my liteon lvd2001, dvd mechanisim would open the tray when I turn it on, and stay out. threw my Sony 109d? dvd rw in (had it lying around) and worked perfectly - straight swap.

had this dvd player for about 4 years now.
