Default reinstall winxp on presario r3000

hi all im helping a buddy with her presario r3000 its full of spyware /virus and we ve decide to just reformat and reinstall the os...the problem is that we cant work out how to reinstall....we can see that theres a i386 folder and various other folders that look like the PREINSTALL stuff but theres no way to initiate it either from software or from a boot option ,(theres no other partition,btw)...also theres no option to make recovery disks...its definately the original presario winxp on the machine atm so im stumped....thanks

Hmm sounds a bit strange. Would say there should be a hidden partition for a FAT32 partition containing the recovery software. Normally this is accessed via startup options or the bios, double check to see whether she has lost any cds that came with it?
