Question New work laptop

I'd like to buy a new computer (the video card on my current dell has blown I think and I have lines all over my screen). I use my computer mainly for work related stuff, reading and writing a lot of documents and using a programme called UpToDate (runs on windows only?) and surfing internet for literature/articles, essentially a big electronic textbook. I also do lots of powerpoint presentations and some personal stuff (photos, video calls etc...) I would love any suggestions for a laptop. I was looking around the $2000-$2500 range. My choices were:

ASUS F3JV (T7200 1Gb 120GB 15WSXGA, Nvidia 7600)
ASUS F3JC (T7200 1Gb 120GB 15WXGA Nvidia 7300)
Sony Vaio FE38GP (T7200 1Gb 120Gb 15WXGA Nvidia 7600)
HP Compaq NX6320 (T7200 15WSXGA, 1GB, 100Gb GMA950),

The guy at the shop suggested I should consider a MacBook?

Does anyone have any suggestions? Many Thanks (I can hardly see what I'm typing now!)
