Hah, classic! Maybe they should've made the bottom of the controller rubber or something so it doesn't slip out've the hand.

The thinner straps were already replaced on the Aussie launch consoles. There was a comparison pic somewhere. I've got 2 remotes (the pack in and the WiiPlay pack) and they both have the new improved thicker straps.

Mine still look a bit thin imo, got no idea if they are new or old, but if the have recalled 3.2 million of them and have sold 1.4 - 1.5 of them, one would think that they are all the thin cords.

I still reckon the problem is human stupidity.

This could well just be a move by Nintendo to clean up the negative remarks going around about the straps. Cost of replacing them with stronger straps will be well worth the publicity of them appearing to fix the "problem".

You seriously have to be stupid to throw a controller at the TV. Straps or no straps.

Have a look at the pics here.
You can easily tell if you have the thin or thick straps.

Just checked both my wiimotes and they both have the older pissy strap. Good thing im not retarded and i hold hold onto my remotes when playing.

However i can see how you could get pretty pissed up and maybe loose grip due to rough play with mates etc.

The straps are strong enough, They only break if you are either letting go, or using an excessive amount of force. ive yet to let mine go. I doubt I will however considering im freaking holding onto it FFS.

http://www.nintendojo.com/fullfocus/...php?1166055790 site is currently being digged to death, but someone tested out the strength of said straps.
