Default Singing lessons in southside brisbane ?

Looking to start up singing lessons in southeast brisbane
Not for any particular reason , i just like doing it I can play guitar and do turntabling so i guess its a natural progression

Anyone suggest a good place / person ?
Would also be interested in the cost , i have one friend who does them
on the coast and he pays about $30 for 30 mins.

Thanks

Or maybe he's just preparing for when he becomes famous.

LOL

Turntabling to singing is the most unnatural progression I can possibly think of...

If you want to make your singing lessons worth a pinch, get your guitar and start trying to sing along (to pitch) as you play scales. Just try and play 5 notes of the scale at first. Do it loud, do it often. Instead of saying doh ray me far soh, try saying doh doh doh doh doh as you go up. each vowel, run thru the scale. You need to be able to enunciate a variety of vowels.

Basically, do this for 6 months, pushing from your chest instead of your throat a few times a week for maybe 15-30 minutes. Do it in private and do it LOUD. Once you have something under your belt, go to a teacher. When you learnt guitar, did you get a lot out of your guitar teacher showing you a G chord and a C chord in one 20 dollar lesson? Heck no. You'll be the same if you don't have serious power behind your voice. Know all the chords, then get the teacher to improve what is there.

Start going to church as well. There are usually 3-5 songs that will allow you to practice some more. You'll learn a bit while you are there as well.

$25/$30 is about average for any half hour instrument lesson. My sister takes singing lessons and it costs $30.

My suggestion is to either go to local music shops and ask or to pick up a copy of a local street press mag and check out their classifieds.

where abouts on the southside are we talking? my mate is one of the best singers i have heard in all honesty, and she gets lessons, although no matter who you ask, she is way better then her teacher (but that doesn't matter, teacher doesn't have to do well, just know what they are talking about) but she learns from someone on the southside
