Default reclain the 5gb wasted by ibm?

hey all,
I just picked up a R40 thinkpad and IBM have nicked 5gb for their recovery system and stuff (the dis is only 20gb so I need all I can get).

Now, I have an oem winxp cd so I c+an do a reinstall if I ever need to (Im instaling liux anyway so its unlikly), so my question is, can I delete the partition and still have access to the graphical BIOS thing it has?
In fact, I dont even care about it, as long as I still have access to the BIOS (which is currently access through this gui thing).

I don't know how they do it but I ghosted the hard disk when I was upgrading my 30GB to 80GB and its just not visible on partition magic or ghost. But the short answer I found was that yes you will lose that graphical bios. the people over here might know more about it.

thanks for that. I did more searching and found out how to make the hidden partition accessable. For the time being tho I think I'll leave it.. space isnt as tight as I thought.
