I know this topic has been covered before but I would like to start a new discussion on it.
I need to get myself a new media player (hopefully by this weekend). I've been tossing and turning over whether to get the ipod Video or Creative Zen (30gig). They are both pretty much the same price. http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html http://www.creative.com/products/pro...&product=14331. My main criteria is size/wieght, battery life, software usability, 30g+ storage and price. |

If size if your main concern, I would get the iPod, but if you don't mind something a little thicker go the Zen. I have owned a couple of iPods and had plenty of problems with them and iTunes. The same can't be said for the Zen MicroPhoto I have at the moment.

how have the battery lives compared?
Also, what accessories do you get with the Zen:M? The ipod video doesn't even come with a power adaptor! (I'm going OS and don't want to rely on PC's to charge the damn thing) |

I think that Creative one is very ugly, i've seen it in the shops, and i can't believe that was created by someone without head injuries.
That said, the black version in the pic you linked is probably the best of the colours, and doesn't look as cheap and tacky. Also, like other replies have said, and a lot of other people according to Today Tonight, the iPod's are problematic. One main thing is if the battery dies, the player is a write off. Plus not to mention that unlike a lot of other mp3 players on the market, the ipod doesn't feature an FM radio or a voice recorder. They are very attractive and small though, so if you don't need these things and your willing to take some risk, then ipod could still be good.
