With you stealth reporter users, i've got a quick question

Does it have like a big harness that you can wrap around your waist? So you can have the shoulder strap on and the harness taking some load of the weight?

Reason i ask is cos i saw a wedding photographer on the weekend and his bag was lowepro, i just didn't know what model, and it would be soooooooooo much better then the crumpler to have on and shoot at the same time.

The Lowepro site lists a few different waist style packs. I recently bought an OffTrail2 from eyusuf on here for exactly that purpose.... toploader bgi enough for a 20D and grip, plus 2 side sliplocks for extra lenses..... will come in handy.

I went to the crumpler store today while I was out trying to take some portraits of people I don't know... and the 6&7 million dollar homes looked great. The only thing that made me thing twice was the price. It seems like a really steep price, $150 for 6 mil, $180 for 7 mil, also I had an issue with the 6 mil having a shoulder strap which isn't padded... that's seems like a really simple thing to be missing.

I'm thinking the 200AW will be the way to go. My Orion Trekker II has been a fantastic bag (besides not being able to get to my gear quickly) so I'll keep with the Lowepro range as they've already proved themselves to me. 200AW I can get for $110 anyway so it's cheaper and I get what I need.

Hope this helps Julz

yeah i think im leaning towards the slingshot 200aw too. I called up the crumpler 'factory outlet' today to find out prices. They told me they're no longer called the factory outlet although occassionally they have samples stock. Otherwise theyre basically jsut a retail store.

6mil comes witha shoulder pad, which is removeable. Sounds like the store removed it from the one you tried

I've seen the 6mil at Teds in the city for $135..... might be worth a go.

7million is $140 posted from here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CRUMPLER-7-Mi...QQcmdZViewItem
but its still more expensive than the lowepro slingshot 200AW - im debating whether its actually a justified price difference.

edit: Stenchlord, where can you buy the slingshot 200AW for only $110?

I haven't searched, but surprisingly enough, its actually cheaper to order in Crumpler from the States than it is to buy locally. I bought a shoulder bag for my wife from the USA to end up with it cheaper, delivered, by about $40.

Odd isn't it. Sent from Aus to the States and sent back and yet still cheaper.

They were probably sent direct from China to the states... I think most of the crumpler stuff is now made in China - I know for sure that my 7 million dollar bag is..

i bought the crumpler 7 million dollar home for my trip. it has loads and loads of room and lots padding. i had a 300d with sigma 18-125 attached, sigma 10-20, compact drive pd70x, spare batteries and charger and enough room to fit 2 drink bottles ( the drink bottles got a little heavy for my poor shoulders tho ). so yer i'd highly recommend the 7 million dollar home.
