i use the neck strap but never around my neck. over the shoulder when carrying around, or wrapped around the wrist if i'm somewhere that meant dropping my camera would be a mega-disaster (not just a mild disaster. i.e. over the edge of a bridge).

i do find it a pita at times though

Hand strap here.

I find that I can't reach the top dial if I have the strap too tight. When I loosen it off, I can reach the dial fine, and in general it's more comfortable to carry.

It's pissed me off a couple of times, but a hell of a lot less than the neck strap used to.

Ben.

Neck strap here
It just... makes me feel better. Then it slings around my body when I'm not taking photos (which is kind of bad because someone could potentially take off my lens behind me without me knowing).

My hand strap is a bit odd though.. I got one which velcros to your wrist (feels good actually)

I use the hand strap - I got sick of the neck strap stabbing me in the eyes each time I turned the camera to take portrait shots.
