how much did you guys get it for importing it?

and i heard that the japanese consoles block out blood in some game - due to some jap censoring law?

What you're referring to is Resistance where the CERO rating in Japan forces it to censor the blood. In fact the game is the same as the version that will be released here just that the console has a chip inside it that when the game is inserted it will recognize it and censor the blood. It's no real biggie as it doesn't detract from playing the game.

The console will cost about 780 for the 60gb from Play-Asia. Shipping is $100 for Fedex and about $160 for EMS.

Apart from price...no.

There are however disadvantages - you can't play local PS2 games, and you can't play Region 4 DVD's.

i guess it would be better to wait and get the aus, and prolly get extended warranty and not have the blood censor chip =)

thats what i was thinking, it would suck not too be able too play blue ray movies hired from the local video store.
i really wish they would release the cheaper 20gig package here , i mean you can just whack a bigger hard drive in anyway.
