With Valentines day coming up, my gf has offered to cook me anything I want.
I get to pick the dessert and i've decided on somthing choc-mint in flavour. However i'm struggling to come up with exactly what i want, she has suggest a frozen choc-mint pie, i thought of a mint-choc ripple cake. Anyone got any better ideas? |

try a mint and vanilla pannacotta, with a dutch chocolate sauce, How good are your cooking skills?? edit* hopefully better than my spelling
i'd write out the recipe for you, but here's some simple links for those things panna. http://www.abc.net.au/centralvic/stories/s961322.htm replace recommended grand marnier with creme de menthe or another light mint liquid, add to flavour and don't over do the mint, awfully overpowering. sauce http://food.cookinglight.com/cooking...cipe_id=698647 i like a bitter sauce as it tends to go well with the sweetness of the vanilla. also server so its had the chill knocked off it, either leave out to room temperature, or heat lightly in the microwave for 20 sec's before serving Garnish with mint and a strawb dipped in fine couverture and you're away. |

What about mint chocolate mousse?
1 block good dark choc 1 bottle cream some eggs seperate eggs, melt chocolate add melted chocolate to egg yolks, and beat whites to stiff peaks. whip cream, then fold the chocolate and 1/3 of the whites at a time into the cream. add some minty stuff (creme de menthe, peppermint essence), then fold gently until its completely combined. leave in the fridge for 5 -6 hours to set, serve in a cold tall glass, topped with some whipped cream, strawberries, and a sprig of mint.

. ![]() Troppo Chocolato - Scoops of mixed ice creams served in a chocolate waffle basket with chocolate sauce, chocolate rolls & creme de menthe. Relatively simple, but the creme de menthe and waffle basket (as well as the good ice cream) just come together for an awesome experience. ![]() Cheers, - Febs.

Well I have decided on what I want...
I'm having a chocolate ripple cake, with green coloured, mint flavoured cream. In the cream will be crushed up "pepermint crisp" candy bars and also the same sprinkled on top. It will be garnished with a sugar coated mint leaf! I'm drooling just thinking about it. I've printed out all the suggestions you guys gave and am saving them for another time becuase they all sound great! |
