your cost is still more than what I would pay retail though. you should have a chat to your supplier

Ooops, note to self. If testing lens to make sure that it is sharp at 200mm then dont have music on at the same time. Bass from the speakers through the table shakes tripod and causes very worried takai.

All better now though, 70-200 is a sharp copy.

Just ordered a 580EX II From an Ebay Seller. A few weeks back I was almost ready to buy from B&H as the AUS $ was at 88c then it started falling a bit and I though I'll wait till it goes back up. Well 2 weeks later it plummeted to under 80c and the cost from B&H is no longer attractive ( Approx $545 delivered before ) > $600 Now.

Anyway, was checking Ebay sites as comparison and a few sellers had the 580EXII for about $560 delivered which is closer to what I was happy to pay. Was checking options as to which store to buy from and what "free Gifts they had " and when I went to buy the price had suddenly risen by $40.. WTF and then their other sale also increased by $40 and then I checked another seller and theirs had also gone up $50. Looks like all the sellers were adjusting their rates due to the Exchange rate.

Found one that must have slept in and hadn't modified the listing yet. Bought it for $569 Including insurance but no "gifts". Being a grey import means No local warranty AFAIK but fingers crossed it is faultless in first year. Worst case is even if I have to send back to HK I should still be in front.

I'm pretty sure all flashes have international warranty along with L lenses.

Got my first DSLR kit and got some really good prices.
In case anyone is interested

photobuff will pricematch. All prices include GSt and tax invoice
d80 $1030
18-200 VR $1060
Sb600 $295
50mm 1.8 nikon - 165

These prices were cheaper than honk kong ebay or B&h adorama. (once you take off the GST)

Just looking to get advice on SD card.
extreme 3 2gig from centrenet seems the best. Any other suggestions?

Mine are all grey import but I bought it from their home shopfront, mix of cash and credit.

The lens and flash have international wrranty so no stress. The body only has japanese warranty which will be handled by photobuff.

Yay... just won an e-bay auction (local seller so I can inspect).

A Tamron 90mm macro lens in "mint" condition for $387.00.

Any tips from the macro "experts" on how to do good macro?
