I'm after a cheap (approx $100) new phone for my gf. She likes nokias. Bluetooth would be a bonus. She'd be going with iSim prepaid so preferably one not locked to a network (unless it's an optus network)

I just got a Nokia 6300 as an interim phone until the E65 is available, then the g/f gets the old 6300

looking for a new phone as my V360 is starting to fall apart (sorta)

Needs to be -
  • <$200
  • Slim <20mm

That is all i've seen the V3 but i was wondering if there were any others out there just as slim but cheaper. Just really need it to make calls and if it has a camera then great if not it's no big deal

I walked into a 3 store at Highpoint in Melbourne last week and they had no stock problems with the 838Pro on a $29 cap.

As for a new model ... HTC Kaiser-based units are expected sometime in Q3 2007. Kaiser is essentially a "step-up" from the Hermes-based 838Pro - it adds native WM6, a 3MP camera, 256Mb memory (from 128Mb) and, if the advance scouting is correct, an operating GPS chip.

Theres a Sony Ericsson K750i on optus prepaid for $279, of course It can be unlocked and debranded by a few people on this forum. Highly recommended phone.

yeh i was thinking bout the K750i hmm.. the L6 looks alright but it'd cost to unlock it since i'm already on Optus i might just grab the K750i.

Anyone used an L6 before? are they decent phones?

I haven't used the L6 but I'm sure its like most motorolas...The SE K750i is more reliable and has better features. Also if you really wanted to, you can also get the firmware upgraded to w800i which gives you the advantage to use the mp3 player on the plane (flight mode)
