Usually i pick a main filling then add a salad of some sort, then decide what bread, and if i wanted it toasted or not.

My all time favourite is the steak sandwich

toast
tenderised rump cut into thin strips cooked medium rare
cheese
bacon
egg
tomato
lettuce
fried onion
sauce/pepper/salt

cant go wrong with that

^^ Love the steak sandwich but ...

Toasted chicken and cheese has got to be the best sandwich filling in the universe.

1. Chicken, Lettuce, Avocado and Beetroot.

2. Roast Beef (medium rare) with Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Horse raddish.

They are nice on any broad, but usually white sourdough for the chicken and white or rye for the beef.

(of course salt and pepper on both).

Ham
Lettuce
Cucumber
Black Olives (katamala)
Butter
"Season All"

When I need a quick sandwich for work that is what I usually make. You can leave off the cucumber and it generally still tastes the same, I just put it on when I have some to use.

Season All is the secret ingredient.

If I'm feeling rich, I'll upgrade my daily salad roll to a - salmon, mayo, tomato sauce, lettuce, tomato and spanish onion.

Here's an interesting option from a cafe in Wodonga.

Blue vein cheese
almond slivers
Raisins
sliced apple
Multigrain bread.

Beautiful!!
