Default Whats the fastest I can put in a KT7?

I know its a simple, basic Q..so a simple basic answer will suffice

Got an abit KT7 with a Duron 650, I was thinking of getting a Duron 1000 or a 1200. With all the new patches etc to the bios im unsure of what is the fastest CPU I can put in it. I'm pretty sure that the max may be 1000...since it has a default setting in the bios for a 1000 cpu.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

i thought they didn't release TBIRD 1.4B's in Oz.....

u could probably run a TBIRD 1.33@1.3....that's if u leave your fsb @ 100. Overclock da fsb, and u'll get a bit more, but it should only go to about 107-108 fsb before it carks it

The Duron's up to 1.3Ghz shouldn't be a problem as they are 100Mhz FSB. You can't run a 1.33Ghz "C" Tbird, it has to be a "B" 100 FSB Tbird, otherwise it will run at 1Ghz (10 x 100). The KT7 can run the 1.3Ghz & 1.4Ghz "B" type CPU's as long as they are locked, as you can't choose multipliers for these CPU's in the BIOS.

I had a Duron 1Ghz (Morgan) running at 1.2Ghz default voltage in a v1.0 KT7 no problems at all. SSE is enabled according to SiSandra.......
