Default C2D Notebooks DDR2 speed?

I've just checked my memory speed with CPU-Z v1.39 and reports that the frequency of the DDR2 RAM is

Frequency - 266.7 MHz
FSB : DRAM - 5:8
CAS - 4.0 clocks
RAS to CAS - 4 clocks
RAS - 4 clocks
Tras - 12 clocks
Trc - 16 clocks

The actual bus speed is 166.7 MHz (rated fsb is 666.7 MHz)

Why won't the DDR2 frequency run at 333 MHz ? (SPD rating of the ram is 333 MHz capable)

good question

made me check my cpu z stats

What's your ram? and your mobo?
because mine says its Samsung PC2-5300 (333mhz)
and its running at 333mhz (5-5-5-13)

also from the chart, it says if i were to run it at 266mhz
i would get the following latencies: 4-4-4-11
