Default Making a laptop stand?

Has anyone made something basic like this?

Thinking of getting a glass/perspex/wood sheet, and attaching some super-soft felt like material to the top surface, and some shot-glasses or something of similar shape to the bottom.

Anyone done something similar or have any ideas on how to make it better?

Laptop is a MacBook for size comparison
