Default IBM thinkpad service?

recently got a IBM x31 with a faulty lcd. Has a few marks, bright pixels and some backlight bleeding. I'm obviously none too happy about it when it arrived, but nothing I can do about it since the seller insisted the damage occurred through post.

I've tried looking up the lenovo site and it seems the laptop was out of warranty in 2005 and was no LCD panel service for this particular model.

So now I'm looking for any third party repair centres that are willing to replace the LCD. I know it's probably gonna cost a heap but I did at least like a quote first. I don't see myself meddling in the LCD replacement as I'll probably make it even worst.

any recommendations? or anyone on the forum who turns out to be a IBM parts guru?
