But yeh if you got ot for $889 then even better.
See that Toshiba on the left hand side of the bottom row for $1498? I'm fairly sure that's the Satellite A100/E00 (judging by the specs).

Well, online that's now showing a special price of $1196, valid to April 29. Went in to my nearest Powerhouse and it was ticketed at $1096. Just over the grand, but not by much. Specs are pretty reasonable too:

CoreDuo T2250; 512MB (I bought another gig to go with it); 80GB HDD; Vista Home Premium, and lots of little toys like fingerprint readers, card readers and so on.

i noticed someone in my class the other day was typing away on a dell inspiron 6400...was talking to him about it and he said he got it from the dell outlet, and a damn good price too (under a grand but it was specced with geforce go 7300 and 1gb ram).

i also noticed it was a very attractive laptop and seemed to be built quite well.

noticed on the dell outlet atm they have an inspiron 6400 with core duo 1.66ghz, 80gb hdd and 512mb ram for $879 delivered...wow. only problem is the GMA 950 chipset...

hello again guys

turns out ive found a dickies store that is willing to order one of the satellite M110s for $888 in from their whyalla store which apparently has a heap, even though theyre technically not allowed to do this for discontinued stock.

just thought id get everyones opinions on what this laptop is like, i see a few of you guys got one when they were $889

mainly want to know about battery life.

turns out this thing is the same width and thickness as my 'ultraportable' portege 4010, but its about 5 centimetres longer. i think i can probably deal with that

The M110 is available at the Ingle Farm as well. If you ask to transfer it in, DSE should do it for you.

The battery life is around 2.5 hrs with regular style use. If you undervolted it a little, you could be looking at 3. It's not bad. 2 things i noticed with the laptop: it has a fingerprint reader and the windows button is in the top right hand corner. Also the mouse pad isn't so flash. If you can live with that, go for it.

You can get the V3230AU for $1194 - $100 cashback. That's not under a grand, but it features better specs than that Toshiba, and just as good battery life. Also the styling is much better.

ingle farm has one, but they dont have the power supply for it or something.

wondering if i can go in there and haggle down more on that one, as im fairly sure it uses the same power supply as most other toshis, i can get one of them easily enough for about $20

If it doesn't have a power supply, they will drop it down a fair bit man. No regular customer is going to buy a laptop without a charger.

If you ask the DSE people, they should be able to ship it to your store at a much cheaper price. By shipping it, they don't lose and GP on the product, so you can get it for at least a $100 off.

Good luck and tell us how it goes.

just as a note to all the people who are still PM'ing me about the compaq presario C302TU - the deal is OVER - all stores are OUT of stock and have been for some time. you didnt seriously expect a deal like that to last this long?

How did that come to $906? The 1501 with the turion is $948 from dell with only 512mb ram, 80gb hard drive and 14.1" screen.
