I'll probably have one coming up for sale soon. Second hand of course.

this pretty much means if I want a 640x480 screened pda I need to grab a jasjar, or a HP hx4700. I can't think of any others with a 640x480 screen?

Yeah, the x51vs have been discontinued. Bad luck

The upcoming O2 flame also has a 640x480 screen and looks to be an absolute killer of a PDA, with a price to match.

The Dell Axim is no more.

Dell is dumping the product. Once when the are all sold, no more will be made.

There's more info about this here, at aximsite.com as well...

Personally, I hope they move into the smart phone market...

What! I was considering buying one for use as a portable movie player or something to that effect. I'm in the market for a portable DivX player which would play desktop quality movies without reencoding (read:no ipod video), and it seems that its really only PDA's with third party software have this capability.

The dell looked pretty much set for that kind of task with its fast processor and hardware acceleration (some intel chip), however if its no longer an option...

Yeah...we're dumping the Axim range off the radar.

Only reason we were given was that it was a fairly poor seller, despite the excellent price/features it carried.

No replacements are planned in the near future I'm afraid so grab one while you still can!!!
